Becoming involved with your TED division makes a difference! We are all enriched by new ideas and helping hands that broaden and deepen our activities and services. Here are few ways that you can get involved with the Teacher Education Division.
The Playground
Something on your mind? Feel free to kick-off your own conversations, share resources (websites, blogs, videos, podcasts, articles, books, etc.), and more that are related to all things teacher education. All TED members can submit a request for free user accounts and begin contributing. See you on The Playground!
Spotlight
Can you think of someone to nominate to shine in the Spotlight? Each month we are going to highlight the teaching strategies, ideas, research, publications, and best practices of an individual or group in our Spotlight on Research and Spotlight on Practice segments. Help is needed in producing this content (interview, blog discussion, video, audio, Q&A, etc.) Share the spotlight!
Getting to Know…
This periodical feature on The Playground helps us all become better acquainted with each other. Getting to Know… provides a brief biographical sketch about, photo of, and web resources by the member being featured. Assistance is needed in collecting and producing this content (there’s a template). It’s an easy way to make new friends.
connecTED
We don’t just have fun together at the annual convention. With TED’s growing toybox full of social technologies we interact with each other all year long. Technologies like facebook, del.icio.us, AECT Live!, TED podcasts, The Playground, Second Life (coming soon), and more keep division members connecTED with teaching, research, and each other. Social activities are only as useful and fun as you make them and we need your assistance making these valuable resources for us all. Come hang out!
TED’s Semi-Annual Newsletter
We always need people to help write, edit, and proof the content and graphic design of this twice-annual publication (Spring and Fall). Make your mark or submit a piece for the newsletter!
TED’s Convention Mini-Program
This popular and useful publication organizes all the convention TED-related presentations, meetings, activities, planning sessions, special events, meals, etc. into one place. Help is always needed in producing the content and graphic design of this publication.
Annual Convention Help
There are several convention-related possibilities for service. Every Spring you can explore the latest in TED research by making a difference as a convention presentation proposal reviewer. While attending the convention in the Fall you can facilitate attendees’ session experiences by moderating a session. Contact the President-Elect (conference planner) and make him/her aware of your willingness to volunteer. Help ensure first-rate quality!
TED Live!
By contributing content you help make our annual convention e-Newsletter as rich and useful a resource and archive as possible.
Communications Subcommittee
Do you enjoy connecting people to resources, programs, and other people? Help communicate various happenings and opportunities through podcasts, blogs, newsletters, and the like. Join this subcommittee and become a link!
