New AECT Research Symposium

Friday, October 29th, 2004

from Leslie Moller:

Overview
The Research Symposium is a bi-annual event designed to draw the best minds within AECT, and elsewhere, together for an intensive intellectual exchange of ideas on a focused topic that would culminate in the publication of a Symposium Proceedings and AECT white paper. The goal of the symposia is to bring a small group of scholars together, in a format, which encourages more in-depth dialogue, and different perspectives on a predefined topic or problem.

PIDT and listserv

Tuesday, October 12th, 2004

From Barbara Lockee:

Be sure to mark your calendars for May 13-16, 2005 for PIDT 2005 in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. This year we are lucky to have Andy Gibbons and the crew at BYU as hosts for our annual gathering. Also, Stephanie Allen (BYU) and David Wiley (USU) are heading up the program planning this year. If you have ideas for programming, we hope you can attend the PIDT planning meeting at AECT on Friday, Oct. 22, 9:30am-11:30am in Conference Room 5-F, located on the fifth floor. Any assistance in program planning or general meeting support will be greatly appreciated!

Also, make note of the new PIDT listserv address. It’s pidt@listserv.vt.edu. It’s an open list, so if you know of others who would like to subscribe, have them follow these instructions:

A. Address a new message to: listserv@listserv.vt.edu.
B. Type “subscribe pidt firstname lastname” in the body of the message and send the email.
C. A note will be generated asking the user to confirm their wish to subscribe to the list.

Virginia Tech will continue to maintain the PIDT listserv and also
the registration responsibilities for the meeting. Following the
planning meeting at AECT, more specific info will be distributed with regard to registration and program plans. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
