Meetings, Membership, and retirement travels

I have been a member of AECT for what seems a few years, but what a great group of people. I am pleased to tell the story of my entry into the role of President, as I think few of my colleagues will ever make this professional decision. I retired early from a 30+ teaching career to go to the Arkansas Affiliate meeting when a new manager denied my weekend travel plans (leave early Friday and return early Monday to allow the weekend keynote and meetings).
But in this past decade with AECT, I have traveled to Seoul Korea, Beijing China, and Lhasa Tibet thanks to my AECT contacts. And I have worked on AECT membership and ECT Foundation services in my free retirement moments. But I look forward to my conferences and summer sessions as an opportunity to meet new friends and plan for the year ahead.
